General Pediatric Dental Care

Exams, X-Rays, & Teeth Cleaning

Children should go to the dentist every six months just like adults. During each checkup, we’ll perform a thorough exam, take x-rays, and provide teeth cleaning depending on your child’s age.

  • When should a child’s first teeth cleaning be?

    The first teeth cleaning is typically scheduled anywhere between age 1 and 3. During your routine dental exams, our doctor will recommend additional treatment and care as needed.

Fluoride Treatment

Despite negative misconceptions, fluoride is safe and effective in the development and maintenance of healthy teeth when used appropriately. Fluoride is known to strengthen tooth structure and even reduce early signs of decay.

  • Can drinking fluoridated water help with tooth decay?

    Absolutely. Fluoride is proven to be safe when added to water and is the most cost-effective way to prevent tooth decay.

In-Office Sedation

Dr. Ashlee Aragón specializes in all pediatric dental care including hospital and in-office sedation. We safely use nitrox oxide for all dental treatments that require sedation and perform them in our own office.

  • Is nitrous oxide safe for children?

    Nitrous oxide sedation is incredibly safe for children and is often the best way to ease anxiety or discomfort during dental treatment.

Sealants

Sealants are a great way to shield your child’s teeth from harmful bacteria. The clean, liquid plastic sealant is placed in vulnerable and hard-to-reach-areas of the tooth for optimal protection.

  • When should my child receive sealants?

    We recommend sealing permanent molars and premolars as soon as they come in. We’ll monitor your child’s dental growth and re-apply sealants if necessary.
